About YNAG

Young Nigerians And Governance is an independent initiative trademarked in Nigeria with the aim of training, coaching and encouraging young people’s participation in leadership and governance across all sphere through the use of conferences, seminars, media and community engagement.

About the Event

Starting a conversation between leaders of today and tomorrow’s leaders with no boundaries. We facilitate a platform that enables young people across the country to speak up and shape their narratives by discussing topics that matter with top leaders, executives and notable influencers in business and community development.

Previous event: Ile-Ife, 62 participants
The keynote speech was delivered by Adamu Garba II, the youngest Presidential Aspirant in Nigeria. It was followed by another keynote by Ayodele Obajeun; Associate Fellow, Nigeria Leadership Initiative and A Kofi Annan Scholar for Extremely Together project.
The following topics were delivered by respective personnel followed by a panel discussion;

  • Generation Y! and Politics: Strategies for building a new Nation where things work- Demola Olanrewaju (Political Strategist)
  • INNOVATION & STRATEGY: Rethinking governance and accountability in Nigeria- Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour
  • Leveraging traditional and new media to achieve good governance- Seun Akinola (Splash FM, Ibadan)
  • The role of mentoring for young people going into politics- Ope Oriniowo (Development Expert); Olugbile Michael (SSA, Osun State)

Media Strategy
Traditional: TV- (Rave TV, Lagos); Radio- (Splash FM, Lead Radio, Lagelu FM, Wells Radio, Rave FM)

Fundraising: The initial startup fund was personal savings followed by goodwill donations from close contacts. In the future, we look forward to sponsorship by individuals or non-governmental organizations.
Volunteers: The event is volunteer driven mostly students and/or recent graduates of tertiary institutions.
