KOWA to give free nomination forms to youth aspirants under 35
Youth aspirants, under the age of 35, hoping to contest on the platform of KOWA Party (KP) have been offered the chance to pick up their nomination forms for free as part of the party’s priority towards youth inclusiveness.
In a press statement sent to Pulse Nigeria on Friday, April 6, 2018, the party said aspirants vying for public office across all levels for the 2019 general elections can now pick up their forms for affordable fees at the National Secretariat.
In the party’s payment structure, presidential aspirants are required to pay the sum of N1 million for their nomination forms, while governorship aspirants will pay N500,000.
Aspirants vying for a seat in the Senate will be required to pay N400,000, while aspirants vying for a seat in the House of Representatives will pay N250,000, and aspirants vying for a seat in the State Assembly will be required to pay N150,000 to pick up a form.
Even though youth aspirants under the age of 35 are not required to pay for the forms, they’ll need to present a required number of financial party members in their constituency who support their ambition and have fully paid their dues in 2018.
Youth aspirants vying for a seat in the Senate will have to present 200 financial members, while aspirants vying for a seat in the House of Representatives will be required to present 125 financial members, and aspirants vying for a seat in the State Assembly will present 100 financial members.
The party’s statement read, “All members of the party who are interested in vying for public office in the forthcoming general elections in our party can now proceed to the National Secretariat to do so.
“For the last 3 years, we have engaged the incumbent administration on their lack of leadership, good governance, transparency, accountability and an overall lack of direction in taking our country to a better place.
“We want to implore all members to step out now into the ring to offer Nigerians a better alternative than the current administration can muster.
“Across the 36 states of the Federal Republic of Nigeria consisting the Senatorial Districts, Federal Constituencies and State Constituencies, our party will be fielding candidates where our members show up. Now is the time to offer Nigerians a difference from the status quo.
“In the spirit of the values we hold dear as a party one of which is inclusiveness, our nomination forms will go for affordable fees across all offices in the elections.
“The National Executive Committee of our party has also decided that because of our priority towards youth inclusiveness and our understanding of the role that young people have to play in the future of our nation, nomination forms for young people (under 35) contesting for the Senate, House of Representatives and State Assembly will be FREE.
“Youth Aspirants however will be required to present a certain number of members of the party in their constituency who support their ambition and have fully paid their dues in 2018.
“As we march on to victory in the 2019 elections, we know that we are rightly positioned as a party to win the mandate of the people and we will do all in our power to present our party to the people in order to secure this mandate.”

Presidential aspirants vying for the primary ticket of KOWA Party for the 2019 presidential election will be subjected to a written examination before they can contest.
